Details

FLEX-TECH is a clear set, solvent-free, pressure sensitive adhesive made for interior installation of IVC fiberglass sheet goods over approved substrates. FLEX-TECH is a solvent-free low-odor adhesive that meets all Federal, State, and local government indoor air quality regulations.

Use Over:
FLEX-TECH can be used over the following: wood underlayment (Wood underlayment panels must be underlayment grade as specified and warranted by the manufacturer); VCT (well bonded); ceramic (well bonded); terrazzo (well bonded); self-leveling and patching compounds (Portland cement based only); resilient floor (no more than 2 layers, well bonded, non-cushioned); radiant heat floors (not exceeding 85°F); above, on, or below grade concrete in absence of excessive moisture and alkalinity. Moisture levels of concrete slabs must be 5 lbs. or less per 1000 square feet per 24 hours (2.27 kg/92.9 m 2/24 hours) using an anhydrous calcium chloride test according to ASTM F-1869, and PH must be between 5 and 9; or, if using ASTM F-2170 In Situ Probes should be less than 75% relative humidity.

Installation Note:
Adhesive must be completely dry to touch prior to installing flooring. Dry Time will vary with fluctuations of temperature and humidity or porosity of the substrate. Adhesives applied over non-porous substrates require extended drying time.

Floor Preparation:
Floor must be clean, smooth, flat and dry. Remove all foreign substances such as wax, grease, dirt and any substance or chemical that may act as a bond breaker. Fill all holes and cracks with a Portland cement based patching compound. Sand high spots to eliminate the possibility of telegraphing. In order to contain dust, prevent over-absorption of adhesive into the subfloor, and insure an optimal adhesive bond, prime the floor if needed using FLEX-PRIM acrylic latex primer. The adhesive, floor covering, and area to receive resilient flooring must be maintained at a temperature of 65°-95°F (18°-35°C) and at a relative humidity of 30-60% for 72 hours before, during, and after installation. Following the flooring manufacturer's guidelines regarding site conditions and installation.
